Nature's Reflection
In a puddle
—
This is a tree on the land where I live. I look into one stem, clusters of myriad blossoms. Just a few of these blossoms would bring enjoyment.
I muse on the creation of a tree with this generosity—seems as many blossoms as cells in my body. Is it created to inspire people to know the Creator is magnanimous? To inspire people to feel better midst the losses, messes ,and curves of life?
I pick up my mail at the mailbox and notice on the wet sidewalk a reflection of the tree in a small spot where water gathered. It’s not even a puddle. Reflections can happen in such a tiny bit of water?!
Do you pause and get inspired by reflections you see in nature? I’ve noticed them on car windows, the many-windowed home in the Sierra Nevada foothills, a huge office building, and my favorite, on a stream. I plan to show a photo of a reflection that inspires me once a month.
When I see one, it picks up my state of mind and transports it to a place between worlds—a silent wonder. I don’t even want to know the scientific explanation—as fascinating as it may be.
Do these reflections say something about us? Are reflections somehow a metaphor, a mystery about the world where our loved ones who’ve died live on? A world greater, full with magnanimous blossoms? What if you are a unique garden, rich in seeds, buds, blooms, your combination of plants and flowers unique in all the universe, a reflection of your Creator?
🌺 Have you noticed reflections in nature? What reflections have inspired you to pause and wonder? I’d love to hear your stories.

It looks like a beautiful piece of printed fabric stretched across the sidewalk. The clarity of the image must have stunned you.
It's important to look for reflections often, not only to practice awareness but because they provide a new way of seeing.
